及时行乐

在网络时代中,人与外部世界的链接变得轻松而快捷,但那些并非身临其境的链接,时常造成感官上的误差。司马源将自己在2014年至2019年之间发布在微信朋友圈上的数百条小视频以某种节奏连接,并剪辑成为两部时长分别为26分钟和10分钟的影像作品。在貌似不加处理的链接顺序背后,那些给予艺术家拍摄动机的时刻,成为了回顾彼时的影像之诗以及真实的生活史。观众可以在一些貌似无意义的视角中看到艺术家纷杂的个人生活经历,以及通过影像碎片所确立的生活信念。

Seize the Day

In the Internet age, the connection between people and the outside world has become easy and fast. But those non-immersive links often create sensory errors. Sima Yuan connected hundreds of short videos she posted on WeChat Moments from 2014 to 2019 in a certain rhythm and edited them into two video works of 26 minutes and 10 minutes respectively. Behind the seemingly unprocessed sequence of connections, the moments that motivate the artist to shoot become retrospective image poetry and life history. Viewers can see in some seemingly meaningless perspectives the artist’s complex personal experience fragments and the life beliefs she established through the video fragments.
